There were 5 Cygnus cygnus (2 ad. & 3 juv.) at ría de
Foz, Lugo, on 9-10.11 (Luis José Salaverri, Germán Torres).
The same author found also there on 9.11.2004 a family group of three that

present at laguna de Boada de Campos, Palencia (Carlos Zumalacárregui,

The area is visited on a weekly basis and this is the 1st record for the

Editorial note: it is curious the

(1) León On 2.11 morning
a drake was found during the irrigating ponds count at León area.
It was with a female Lesser Scaup (Aythya affinis) within a flock
of 30 Pochards (Aythya ferina). First they were seen in a small
pond at Zuares del Páramo and later they were photographed at Santa
Cristina del Páramo pond, León (less than 2 km far from the
1st place). This is the 7th in-a-row winter that Ring-necked Duck is found
in León (Carlos Zumalacárregui & David Miguélez).See

On 2.11 morning a female was found during the irrigating ponds count at
León area. It was with a drake Ring-necked Duck (Aythya collaris)
within a flock of 30 Pochards (Aythya ferina). First they were seen
in a small pond at Zuares del Páramo and later they were photographed
at Santa Cristina del Páramo pond, León (less than 2 km far
from the 1st place). This is the 1st record of Lesser Scaup for the area

A 1st-calendar year bird was found on 11.11 morning at estany de cal Tet,
Llobregat delta, Barcelona (Lluís Gustamante).On 12.11 it was relocated
at the same place (Ferran López, Sergi Bosch, Armand Ramal). Last

Canaria On 29.11, a 1w was seen at Las Canteras beach, Las Palmas de
Gran Canaria, Canary Islands (Emma Guinart, Eduard González). The
bird was seen again and photographed by an independent couple of observers
on 1.12.2007 (John & Doreen Cooper) who took c.200 photos of the bird
at close range (c.15m!). Both news known on 1.12.2007 afternoon.
Incidentally,
searching throught the web, we've found that the bird was already there
on 15.11 (!) since there
is a photo in the local playa de las Canteras website which is reproduced
below (c.f. Agustín Pérez Armas). More news in the Rarebirdspain

two accepted records for Spain up to 2004. Seen again on 25.11 (Jorge Valella,
Pablo Fernández, José Guerra, Pablo Miranda, Pedro J Menéndez,
Ricardo Hevia, José Miguel Pumar, Tito Salvadores, Cosme Damian

relocated in some bushes near the Vixan lagoon on 13.11 (Manuel Polo Aparisi).
