(1) Cantabria A bird was seen at Alday marshes, Camargo, Cantabria, on 1.8 (Guillermo Rodríguez) to 8.8 (Alejandro García Herrera). It may remain in the are to complete its moult.

Egyptian GooseAlopochen aegyptiaca (1)
(1) Cádiz. A bird was seen at Alventus marshes, Trebujena, Cádiz on 8.8 (Paco Chiclana, Fernando del Valle). See a thumbnail here

American Black Duck Anas rubripes (1)
(1) A Coruña A bird arrived on 13.8 to Esteiro de Feás, ria de Ortigueira, A Coruña (first record for 2006 was on 1.9) (Cosme Damián Romai, Ricardo Hevia). It was still there on 15.8 (Ricardo Hevia).See a photo below and a thumbnail here

(1) A Coruña A bird was seen and photographed at Lago, A Coruña, on 26-29.8 (Amadeo Pombo). There is a  photo in his Aves de la Marina Lucense blog here

Pied-billed Grebe Podylimbus podiceps (1)
(1) Lugo One bird was seen at Riocaldo lagoons, Begonte, Lugo on 23.8 (José Otero). It was the same seen on 26.7 at Caque lagoon, Lugo.Seen again on 27.8 (José Otero, Eva Villares).

Wilson's Storm Petrel* Oceanites oceanicus (1-5,6)
(1-5) Asturies On 22.8, five birds were seen from Punta de la Vaca headland, Gozón, Asturies. Birds were seen within 9:45 and 14:45 plus 16:45-19:45 hours (Pablo Guerra, José Guerra, Marco García, Nacho Vega, Pedro J. Menéndez, Daniel López Velasco, Jorge Valella).
(6) Cantabria On 22.8 at least one bird, perhaps 2, were seen from Santander coast (Guillermo Rodriguez, Fernando Arce). 

Presumed Hybrid Western Reef x Little Egret* Egretta gularis x garzetta (1,2)
(1) Tarragona The resident presumed hybrid of the Tancada area, Delta de l'Ebre, was seen again on 8.8 at Tancada saltpans area, between the road and the bay (Ricard Gutiérrez, Emma Guinart). See two photos below (R.Gutiérrez). Seen again on 11.8 (Xesco Macià, Javier Mendoza)

(2) Sevilla Another individual reported before in this website was relocated on 13.8 at Veta la Palma, Doñana Natural Park, La Puebla del Rio, Sevilla. It has been there for a year at least and it does not seem to have bred this season (José Luis Arroyo)

(1) Cádiz On 21.8, an immature was seen at close distance over Cazalla bird observatory, Tarifa, Cádiz (Cintia Gómez, Águeda Alcalde, María Barroso, David Cuenca Espinosa/Programa Migres Planeadoras).

Long-legged Buzzard* Buteo rufinus (1)
(1) Gibraltar A bird was seen coming from Morocco and flying over the rock for  half an hour on 14.8.It left later (Mario Mosquera/GONHS)

Pallid Harrier Circus macrourus(1)
(1) Cádiz On 21.8, an adult male was seen perched and flying over Tráfico bird observatory, Tarifa, Cádiz (Estefania Aleu, Iratxe González/Programa Migres Planeadoras).

Lanner Falco biarmicus(1)
(1) Cádiz On 21.8, a juvenile was seen perched and flying over Cazalla bird observatory, Tarifa, Cádiz (Cintia Gómez, Águeda Alcalde, María Barroso, David Cuenca Espinosa/Programa Migres Planeadoras).

Black-winged Pratincole Glareola nordmanni (1)
(1) Valencia A bird was found on 29.8 at Sueca, at ricefields of partida de La Llonga, L’Albufera Natural Park, Valencia (Bosco Dies, Belén Martínez). Seen again on 31.8 at the same place (Bosco Dies, Toni Alcocer, Toni Castelló). See a photo below and a thumbnail here (Bosco Dies)

Semipalmated Sandpiper Calidris pusilla  (1)
(1) A Coruña On 28.8 a juvenile was seen at Ensenada da Ínsua, Ponteceso, Bergantinhos, A Coruña (José Ramón Gómez, Ana Isabel Pérez).

White-rumped Sandpiper Calidris fuscicollis (1)
(1) Illes Balears On 23.8 a bird was seen at Salobrar de Campos, Mallorca (Maties Rebassa). It was photographed (see below) and three thumbnails here

Broad-billed Sandpiper Limicola falcinellus (1)
(1) Tarragona On 25.8 an adult was found at Goleró area, Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona (Joan Ferrer, Jordi Feliu, Joan Ventura. It was still in the same area on 26.8 (Joan Ferrer). See two thumbnails here

Red-necked Phalarope* Phalaropus lobatus (1-2)
(1-2) Huelva On 15.8 two were seen at Isla Cristina saltpans, Huelva (Juan Sagardia). See two photos below (J.Sagardia).One was still there on 25.8 (Antonio Aguilera).

Long-tailed Skua Stercorarius longicaudus (1-2,3-4,5,6-9,10)
(1-2) Málaga While conducting the RAM (seabird) count from Desembocadura del Guadalhorce, Málaga, on 4.8, two adults were seen flying S (Andy Paterson).
(3-4) Asturies On 22.8, two birds were seen from Punta de la Vaca headland, Gozón, Asturies. Birds were seen within 9:45 and 14:45 plus 16:45-19:45 hours (Pablo Guerra, José Guerra, Marco García, Nacho Vega, Pedro J. Menéndez, Daniel López Velasco, Jorge Valella).
(5) Asturies On 22.8 a juvenile was seen flying E-W off Tapia lighthouse, Tapia de Casariego, Asturies (Pablo Fernández García)
(6-9) A Coruña On 19.8 four were seen from Estaca de Bares, A Coruña (Pablo Pita, Alfonso Valderas, Antonio Sandoval).
(10)A Coruña On 21.8 one was seen from Estaca de Bares, A Coruña (Pablo Gutiérrez).

Caspian Gull Larus cachinanns (1)
(1) Lugo A bird was reported from Burela harbour, Lugo on 7.8 (Alfonso López López)

Royal Tern Sterna maxima (1)
(1) Huelva A bird was seen in company of three Sandwich Terns at Isla Cristina beach, Huelva on 24.8 (Antonio Aguilera)

Lesser-crested Tern Sterna bengalensis (1)
(1) Cádiz An adult was seen resting at Los Lances beach, Cádiz, on 2.8 together with other terns and gull species (Blanca Fernández, Inma López, David Cuenca Espinosa/Fundación Migres).

Yellow-billed Tern (possible Elegant Tern or some kind of hybrid bengalensis x sandvicensis or similar ) Sterna sp (1,2,3,4)
(1) Cádiz An adult was reported at Cádiz beach on 2.8 in company of other birds (Rafael García Costales). See a thumbnail here. It was seen again on 3.8 at the same place (R.García Costales). See a photo below. Presumably this same bird was seen again on 10.8 (R.Garcia Costales, Paco Chiclana)

(2) Cádiz-Huelva Perhaps the same bird seen at Valencia the month before, carrying a yellow PVC ring on its left leg was seen on 6.8 at Bahia de Cadiz Natural Park, Cádiz (Rafael García Costales). See a thumbnail here. This bird was seen again on 10.8 at the same place (R.G.Costales, Paco Chiclana). And on 21.8 (Miguel Rouco, José Manuel Méndez) saw it at Marismas del Odiel, Huelva. (3) Tarragona Presumably the same bird seen at Valencia last month that brought no rings but showed a large red-based bill was seen again on 15.8 at Tarragona harbour, Tarragona (Joan Ferré, Albert Cama) and again at the same place on 16.8 (Albert Cama).Seen again on 18.8 (Pere Josa, Albert Cama). See another photo below.Perhaps this same bird (or another Orange-billed Tern) was seen on 21.8 at platja de la Marquesa, Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona (Yves Borremans).

(1) Asturies One was seen from Punta de la Vaca, Gozón, on 23.8 (Jorge Valella, Nacho Vega, Daniel López Velasco).
(2-3) Cantabria On 23.8 an adult and 1-2 juveniles were seen at outer areas of Santander harbour, Cantabria (Guillermo Rodríguez, Fernando Arce)

Little Swift Apus affinis (1-3,4-5)
(1-3) Cádiz On 2.8 (Paco Chiclana) and 4.8 there were 3 at Guadalquivir river mouth, Chipiona, Cádiz (Rafael García Costales)
(4-5) Sevilla A couple was seen on 1.8 at Loria del Rio, Sierra Norte, Sevilla (Paco Chiclana)

Citrine Wagtail Motacilla citreola (1)
(1) Barcelona On 20.8, a juvenile was found at Besòs river, Montcada i Reixac, Barcelona (Xesco Macià, Enric Fontcuberta, Javi Mendoza). It was seen during all afternoon feeding in the area. See four thumbnails here

(1) Pontevedra The bird present since 4.7.2006 at A Laxe de Rons area, O  Grove/Ogrobe, Pontevedra, Galicia was still around on 4.8.2007 (Cosme Damián Romai).And 17.8 (Cosme Damián Romai)

Gibraltar news are included thanks to Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society but this has no more implication than the sake of completeness given this area situation. Names of localities are featured as given by the authors of the records, that should be cited as those. Today news are marked with a  icon. Scanning through tern groups can produce surprises like this Yellow billed, possible Lesser Crested Tern? seen at Cádiz on 2.8 (Rafael García Costales)
