On 22.8, five birds were seen from Punta de la Vaca headland, Gozón,
Asturies. Birds were seen within 9:45 and 14:45 plus 16:45-19:45 hours
(Pablo Guerra, José Guerra, Marco García, Nacho Vega, Pedro
J. Menéndez, Daniel López Velasco, Jorge Valella).

On 22.8 at least one bird, perhaps 2, were seen from Santander coast (Guillermo
Rodriguez, Fernando Arce).

seen again on 8.8 at Tancada saltpans area, between the road and the bay

Sevilla Another individual
reported before in this website was relocated on 13.8 at Veta la Palma,
Doñana Natural Park, La Puebla del Rio, Sevilla. It has been there
for a year at least and it does not seem to have bred this season (José
Luis Arroyo)

While conducting the RAM (seabird) count from Desembocadura del Guadalhorce,
Málaga, on 4.8, two adults were seen flying S (Andy Paterson).

Perhaps the same bird seen at Valencia the month before, carrying a yellow
PVC ring on its left leg was seen on 6.8 at Bahia de Cadiz Natural Park,
Cádiz (Rafael García Costales). See a thumbnail here.
This bird was seen again on 10.8 at the same place (R.G.Costales, Paco
Chiclana). And on 21.8 (Miguel Rouco, José Manuel Méndez)

Tarragona
Presumably the same bird seen at Valencia last month that brought no rings
but showed a large red-based bill was seen again on 15.8 at Tarragona harbour,
Tarragona (Joan Ferré, Albert Cama) and again at the same place
on 16.8 (Albert Cama).Seen again on 18.8 (Pere Josa, Albert Cama). See
another photo below.Perhaps this same bird (or another Orange-billed Tern)
was seen on 21.8 at platja de la Marquesa, Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona (Yves
Borremans).

2007 overview. The month begins with two Long-tailed Skuas at Málaga.
The Ebro Delta Egret is seen intermitently and the Little Swifts are still
around Cádiz, where two interesting yellow-billed Terns are seen.
Later another elegant-like tern was seen at Cambrils. Later, some interesting
raptor movement at Tarifa and seabird passage at Asturies. |

de Agosto 2007. El mes empieza con dos Págalos raberos en Málaga.
La garceta híbrida del delta del Ebro se deja ver intermitentemente
y los vencejos moros de Cádiz aún están por la zona.
Allí también se ven un par de charranes de pico amarillo
interesantes. Más tarde otro tipo elegans se vio en Cambrils.
En Tarifa empieza el paso de rapaces interesantes a final de mes y se produce
un paso de aves marinas en Asturies. |

El mes comença amb dos Paràsits cuallargs a Màlaga.
Al delta de l'Ebre es veu de forma intermitent el martinet de la Tancada.
A Cadis es continuen veient els falziots culblancs comuns i també
dos xatracs de bec groc interessants.Més tard, un altre tipus elegans
va ser vist a Cambrils. A Tarifa comença el pas de rapinyaires interessants
cap a final de mes i es produeix un pas de marines a Asturies. |

reports includes the latest sightings from the whole of Spain which are
both personal observations, communications or have been released in E-Mail
lists. Please contact the authors before using any photo for anything else
than personal reference. Any submitted news to this page will be forwarded
to the Spanish RC if enough substantiated but inclusion in this page does
not imply acceptance or homologation of any kind. Gibraltar news are
included thanks to Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society
but this has no more implication than the sake of completeness given this
area situation. Names of localities are featured as given by the authors
of the records, that should be cited as those. Today news are marked with
a icon. We would welcome to
receive a spare copy of those journals using these news for commercial

news of rarities needing homologation by the Spanish Rarities Committee
