From March
2005 this webpage only includes records of birds needing homologation
by CR/SEO. For other local rarities contact local bird reports or records
committees. See here rarities only for the Canary
Islands also dealt by CR/SEO. Changes in application to the rarity list
from January 2006. New rarities include Sylvia curruca, Crex crex and
others. Larus delawarensis and Anthus richardi have been
withdrawn from the rarity list and will not be included from 2006. |

Egretta gularis x garzetta (1,2)
(1) Tarragona
The resident presumed hybrid of the Tancada area, Delta de l'Ebre, was
seen again on 6.6 now in the usual place on the basis of the Trabucador
sandbar and Tancada area (Grégory Lepoutre). See a photo below (G.Lepoutre)

(2) Sevilla A grey &
white bird, probably the same seen in 2006 at Codo de la Esparraguera,
Trebujena, Cádiz, was seen again on 18.6 at Veta la Palma, Doñana
Natural Park, La Puebla del Río, Sevilla (José Luis Arroyo).

On 14.6 a juvenile was seen over Gibraltar (GONHS).

A juveniles was seen arriving from Africa at 13:00 with 3 Black Kites Milvus
migrans from Jews' Gate (GONHS)

The 4th winter continued at Avilés harbour on 1.6 (D.L.Velasco,
Miguel Rouco). See a thumbnail here
(2) Bizkaia
A bird was seen on 26-27.6 at Jata dump and Lemoniz reservoir, Lemoniz,
Bizkaia (Javier Elorriaga). It seems it might be the same bird reported
from this area this last winter.

(1-2) Cádiz
Two birds were seen flying W off Tarifa island, Cádiz, on 12.6 (Juan
Ramírez, María Mateos). These sightings were produced within
Migres count program.

Sterna bengalensis (1,2,3-11,12-14,15)
(1) Cádiz
On 2.6 there was one fishing near Tarifa island, Cádiz (Gonzalo
Muñoz, Alejandro Onrubia, Pablo Barrena y Tania Saez).
(2) Cádiz
On 3.6 another was seen in flight to the East off Tarifa, Cádiz
(Andrés de la Cruz, David Cuenca Espinosa).
(3-11) Cádiz
On 5.6, nine birds were seen flying east only 100 meters off the coast
of Tarifa island, Cádiz: five with two Sandwich Terns S.sandvicensis,
two more with 3 Sandwich and 2 more alone. There were probably more birds,
perhaps up to 12 different (Juan Ramirez, David Cuenca Espinosa)

Three more were seen on 5.6 afternoon (Gonzalo Muñoz).

At least one bird, possibly two, were seen flying 100 m off Rambla Morales,
Cabo de Gata NP, Almeria, on 9.6 (Juan Pérez)

On 1.6 there were 2 at Zeluán, ria de Avilés, Asturies (Daniel
López Velasco, Miguel Rouco). See two photos below (D.López

(3) Cantabria The Santoña
bird found in late May remained in the
area on 1.6 (Alejandro García Herrera)
(4) Bizkaia Another was found
at El Abra, first from Santurtzi and then from Getxo on 1.6 (Gorka Ocio).
On 7.6 (Iván Sarabia), 8.6 (Iván Sarabia, Juanma Domínguez)
it was seen again. Photographed on 9.6 (Ricardo Rodríguez, Lander

afternoon an adult breeding plumaged bird was recorded flying across Ria
de Ortigueira, A Coruña (Ricardo Hevia)

Two were seen flying west from Europa poimt on 27.6. 4th Gibraltar record

At least eleven birds between Chipiona and Bolonia were seen on 11.6 (Paco
Chiclana).At least there were seven at Bolonia on 18.6 (André van

A bird was at Sevilla northern sierra on 16.6 (Paco Chiclana, Manolo Villaécija)

Crow Corvus albus (1)
(1) Pontevedra
The bird present since 4.7.2006 at A Laxe de Rons area, O Grove/Ogrobe,
Pontevedra, Galicia was still around on 28.6, c.500m from its nest aat
Boibas, Ogrobe (Cosme Damián Romai). The nest was apparently abandoned
and therefore it seems that it has failed the breeding of this bird with
a Carrion Crow.
