(3-6) León Two drakes and two females were seen at Embalse de Selga de Ordás, León, on 11.12 (Carlos Gutiérrez Expósito). See photos of the combined flock below. Still relocated on 17.12 (Eduardo Amengual).Seen on 20.12 (Miguel Rouco), see a collage-photo below. It has now been known that the birds had reached the area on 28.10 (Carlos Zumalacárregui). (1) Asturies A bird reached Ria de la Villa, Villaviciosa, Asturies, on 27.12 (Adolfo Villaverde, Clemente Álvarez Usategui). It continued in the area on 28.12 (J.A.García, Clemente Alvarez, Nacho Vega, Xuan Cortés, Juanín Zaldivar, David Álvarez, Adolfo Villaverde). On 29.12 it was photographed (Miguel Rouco, Alfonso Rodrigo). See a photo-collage below (M.Rouco). The bird remained in the area into 2007 (Adolfo Villaverde)

(1) Huelva An adult was found at El Rocío marshes on 21.12.2006 (Luis García/PN Doñana). Searches on 22 and 29.12.2006 gave no results but it was relocated in January 2007.

Terek Sandpiper* Xenus cinereus (1)
(1) Cádiz The overwintering bird at Sancti-Petri marshes, Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz was seen again on 23.12 (Manolo Villaécija, Goyo Para, Paco Chiclana). See a thumbnail here

Laughing Gull* Larus atricilla (1,2)
(1) Valencia The bird released into the wild with PVC ring '272' on 19.9 at Albufera de Valencia (see September news for the full story) and then seen during october and november, was still around on 3.12 (Bosco Dies). See a photo below (B.Dies).The bird was seen again on 4,5 and 8.12 (Grégory Lepoutre).Seen again on 19.12 (Grégory Lepoutre). More photos to come.

(2) Asturies A bird was seen flying off Punta de la Vaca, Lluanco, Gozón, Asturies on 10.12 (Elías García-Sánchez)

Iceland Gull* Larus glaucoides(1,2-3,4,5)
(1) Bizkaia A 1w was seen at Santurtzi harbour, Bizkaia on 5.12 (Gorka Ocio).This bird was seen again on 9.12 (Ricardo Rodríguez). See a thumbnail here
(2-3) A Coruña Two 1st winters were observed on 6-8.12 at Lires, Cée, A Coruña (José Ramón Gómez González, Ana Isabel Pérez; David Martínez Lago). see two photos below (J.R.Gómez) and two thumbnails here These birds were seen again on 19.12, in company of a third individual (see 4 below, Xurxo Pinheiro, Toni Alcocer, Isabel Bischoping). The two initial birds were seen again at the same place on 22.12 (Xabier Varela)

(4) A Coruña A further individual was found at Lires,Ceé on 19.12 in company of the two birds already present there (see 2-3 above,Xurxo Pinheiro, Toni Alcocer, Isabel Bischoping). This same bird had apparently moved to the nearby (c.1 km) Nemiña beach, Muxia on 22.12 (Xabier Varela).Photos in Xabier blog here
(5) Pontevedra On 29.12 a 1w was present at playa Banda Do Rio, Bueu, Pontevedra (José Ramón Gómez)

(1-8) Cádiz. Eight birds were seen flying in Cadiz beaches, near Guadalquivir river mouth on 22.12 (Paco Chiclana).

Citrine Wagtail* Motacilla citreola (1)
(1) Girona A 1w was seen and photographed at close distance at El Matà area, PN Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, Girona, on 14.12 (Jordi Martí-Aledo).The bird remained in the area at least until 17.12, from 16-17.12 at Els Fangassos petits area, close to El Matà and in company of an overwintering 1w Yellow Wagtail Motacilla flava (Alex Ollé, Xavier del Acebo, Jordi Martí-Aledo).
