From March
2005 this webpage only includes records of birds needing homologation
by CR/SEO. For other local rarities contact local bird reports or records
committees. See here rarities only for the Canary
Islands also dealt by CR/SEO. Changes in application to the rarity list
from January 2006. New rarities include Sylvia curruca, Crex crex and
others. Larus delawarensis and Anthus richardi have been
withdrawn from the rarity list and will not be included in 2006. |

Alopochen aegyptiaca (1-2,3)
(1-2) There
were 2 birds, very presumably of captive origin (E list) at Estany de Boada,
Baix Ter, Girona on 20.5, 27.5 and 4.6 (Ramon Fortià). See a photo
below. These sightings have to be the same two birds reported at Basses
d'en Coll, Pals, also Baix Ter area, Girona on 20.5 too (check May
2006 reports).

(3) On 13.6
a bird was seen in company of a Ruddy Shelduck T.ferruginea at Bassa
de Son Ferriol, Mallorca (Lalo Ventoso). See a photo here (opens

(1) A bird
was seen flying south over the sea off L'Estartit, Torroella de Montgrí,
Girona on 4.6 (Jordi Clavell, Neus Gallardo).A bird, probably the same,
was seen flying over the marshes of Sant Pere Pescador beach, Girona on
7.6 (Teresa Montràs, Madavh Singh, Àlex Ollé, Jordi
Martí-Aledo).

(1) A bird
was seen on 21.6 from Rillón vessel, 15 nautic miles N off Cuideiru
(Cudillero), Asturies (Arturo Ruano, José Antonio Fernández,
Xurde Gayol). It was in company of hundreds of European Storm-Petrels Hydrobates
pelagicus

present for the last years at Tancada lagoon, Ebre delta, Tarragona, was
seen again on 16.6 (Johnny van der Zwaag, I.H.Sørensen, C.Jensen/Audouin
Birding Tours) and on 21.6 (Andrew & Jannette Shands, Gitte Hove and
Niels Ole Sørensen, I.H.Sørensen, C.Jensen/Audouin Birding

was seen on 11.6 at Villacañas reservoir, Toledo (Delfín
González, Juan M.Ruiz, Javier Marchamalo). Perhaps it's the same
bird present the previous month at laguna delCamino de Villafranca, de
Alcazar de San Juan, Ciudad Real (Check may

(1) On 14.6
there was a bird at Xeiro, Cangas de Narcea, Asturies (Adrián Vigil
Morán)
(1) At Gibraltar,
a juvenile was seen on 23.6. It arrived in Gibraltar from the south and
continued north, thus a natural post-breeding dispersal record (GONHS,
contributed by Ernest FJ Garcia)

(1) The 1w
first seen on 16.3 at ría do Burgo, A Coruña, was seen again,
now a 1s, on 29.5 (Antonio Sandoval).The bird remained there on 17.6 (see
two thumbnails here)

(1) A 2nd
summer bird remained at Zeluán, Asturies, on 18.6 (Daniel López

not imply acceptance or homologation of any kind. Gibraltar news are
included thanks to Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society
but this has no more implication than the sake of completeness given this
area situation. Names of localities are featured as given by the authors
of the records, that should be cited as those. Today news are marked with
.From 2004 on news on Pied Wagtail and Caspian Tern are no longer included
except in case of major unusual concentrations. From
April 2005 only news of rarities needing homologation by the Spanish Rarities
