Ring-necked Duck* Aythya collaris (1,2-6,7)
(1) The female seen at Valle Molina reservoir, Tenerife, Canary Islands, on 10.2 was still there on 10.3 (Juan Antonio Lorenzo) and 30.3 (Micha A.Neumann)
(2-6) The five birds present at least since 4.2 at Embalse de As Forcadas, Valdoviño, A Coruña (four males and a female) remained at the same area on 10.3 (Ricardo Hevia)
(7) The female overwintering at PN Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, Girona, was seen again on 12.3 (Jordi Martí-Aledo)

(1) The bird seen from February at least at Veguilla lagoon, Alcazar de San Juan lagoon, Ciudad Real was seen again on 5.3 (Ángela Molina, Alfonso López)Still in the are, but quite unconfiding, on 12.3 (Manuel Chapa) and 18.3 (Gabriel Martín, Joan Ximenis, Mario Rodero, Carlos Sánchez).

Pallid Harrier* Circus macrourus (1,2)
(1) The 1w seen from 5-7.12.2005 at Xilxes marshes, Castelló, Comunitat Valenciana was relocated on 3.3 (Josep Bort). See photos in his website (opens in another window)
(2) At Gibraltar, a bird was seen on passage on 22.3 (Paul Rocca/GONHS). This is the 2nd ever record for the rock, the 1st being on 23.3.1992 (communicated by Ernest FJ Garcia)

Sociable Plover* Vanellus gregarius (1)
(1)A bird in breeding plumage was seen at El Rocío, PN Doñana, Huelva on 6.3 (José Luis Arroyo; Dave Pitman). The bird had been present in the area at least since 24.2.2006 (seen by Scandinavian birders).

(1)The 3rd for Catalonia, and 1st for Girona, was a bird, a 1w, found at El Matà, Parc Natural Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, Girona, on 12.3 (Jordi Martí-Aledo  ; Mireia Jiménez,Alex Ollé, Pere Serrano). (3)The bird present since 3.10.2005 at Ría de Ortigueira, Galicia, was still in the area on 14.3. Unprecedented set of records.
(1) The 1w Caspian found on 10-29.1 at Pinto rubbish tip, Madrid was seen gain and photographed on 4.3 (Javier Marchamalo, Juan M. Ruiz, Gabriel Martín)

(5) A green PVC-ringed bird was seen at playa de Alba, Arteixo, A Coruña, on 10.3 (Xabier Varela). See two thumbnails here (X.Varela).This bird had been ringed on 27.5.2005 at Jankowice, near Zator, Oswiecim County, Poland (50,02N 19,28E) within a 100 pairs colony of Larus cachinnans
(6-8) On 12.3 three were seen at Santurtzi area, Bizkaia, Euskadi (Joan Ferré, J.L.Copete, G.Ocio, F.López,X.Macià; G.Artiguez, A.Cama). One of them, the 1st, was still tehre on 19.3 (G.Ocio).
(9) On 4.3 another new 1w bird, different from (1) was seen at Pinto rubbish tip, Madrid (Javier Marchamalo). See two thumbnails here

On 18.3 another 1w was seen at Solius dump, Solius, Girona (Carlos Álvarez Cros). See a photo in the vall de Ridaura website.After careful examination it was concluded that it was the same individual than the Palamós bird
(11) At Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, one 1w was found amongst the local Yellow-leggeds and Lesser Black-backeds on 20.3 (Vittorio Pedrocchi, Carles Carboneras). (13) At Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, on 24.3 a THIRD 1w was found in company of the previous two (birds 12 and 11). This 3rd individual was intermediate in wear compared with the other two (V.Pedrocchi, J.Ferré, L.Hernández, C.Carboneras, E.Pons, J.Pedrocchi). See a photo below (C.Carboneras)

Hybrid Lesser-Crested x Sandwich Tern or Cayenne Tern* Sterna bengalensis x sandvicensis or S.sanvicensis eurygnatha(1)
(1) The bird first seen on 31.1 was seen again on 2.3 at Arrecife area, Lanzarote, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Francisco Javier García Vargas).On 15-17.3 it was seen again in better conditions noting a whitish rump, concolorous with tail and contrasting with mantle. These features eliminate pure bengalensis. A full description is being written to discard the possibility of Cayenne Tern, a major rarity would be (F.J.García Vargas).Still there on 29-21.3 (F.J.García Vargas, Juan Sagardía Pradera)

(1-2) A bird was seen on 13.3 at Arrecife area, Lanzarote, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Francisco Javier García Vargas). Still there on 29.3, when a second bird joined the first (F.Javier García Vargas)

Little Swift * Apus affinis (1,2-3)
(1) On 2.3 a bird was seen at Guadalquivir river mouth, Chipiona, Cádiz (Paco Chiclana)
(2-3) A pair was noted on 24.3 from Tarifa island, Cádiz (Maria Mateos, Sandra Villar, Andrés de la Cruz, Gonzalo M.Arroyo, David Cuenca Espinosa)

Black-headed Wagtail Motacilla flava feldegg (1)
(1) A male feldegg was seen at Llobregat river near Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona, on 30.3 (Sergi Sales). It was seen again on 31.3 afternoon (Andrés Burguera) at the Llobregat river at Sant Boi de Llobregat.

(1) A bird was seen on 23.3 near Gijón, Asturies (Elias G.Sánchez)

(1) A 1w bird was found on 4.2 at Viladecans rubbish dump, Llobregat Delta, Barcelona was still there on 4.3 (Carles Grande).
