10 miles W of illas Cies, Vigo, Pontevedra (within close distance of Parque

(1) On 9.7 evening, an adult was
seen at close distance at Roque Grande, Roques de Salmor, El Hierro, Canary
Islands (Manuel Santana)

(1)One bird
present at least for two years was seen again at La Tancada area, Delta
de l'Ebre, Tarragona until 13.7, especially in the morning when it forages
around the saltpans S of the lagoon (C.Jensen/Audouin Birding Tours).

was seen on 6.7 at Brazo de la Torre, PN Doñana, Sevilla (John Butler).
It is probably the same individual lingering around Doñana last
month and the last year but probably different from that
of Málaga reported in may.

(2nd this year!!) proof of natural vagrancy to Europe: on 7.7, a juvenile
was seen entering from the sea at Playa de los Lances, Tarifa, Cádiz
(Daniel López Velasco, David Cuenca, Gonzalo Muñoz, Joan
Ferré, Martí Rodriguez, Guillermo Rodriguez).

a 1st winter moulting into 2nd winter was found at the ecological
ricefields of Riet Vell, at Ebre delta, Tarragona (Cristian Jensen, Iben
Hove Sorensen/Audouin Birding Tours; David Bigas ,
Ignasi Ripoll and SEO/Birdlife volunteers). It remained into July at least
until 3.7 (Josep Tantull) and later into the 13.7 (Cristian Jensen/ Audouin

(2) The bird featured last month
at playa de Serantes, Tapia de Casariego, Asturies, was relocated on 11.7
agan at the same place (Pablo Fernández). See a photo below (P.Fernández)

Sterna elegans (1)
(1) An adult
tern showing characters of Elegant Tern, metal-ringed and thought to be
the same seen last year at Ebre Delta and also seen in the Ebre delta intermitently
during the last months (David Bigas ),
was seen at El Prat de Llobregat, Llobregat delta, Barcelona on 21.7 (V.Pedrocchi,
P.X.Albornà) and 22.7 (F.López; R.Armada, M.Gil). See a collection

Tern*
Sterna dougallii (1,2)
(1) An adult
was seen in company of three Common Terns Sterna hirundo 1,3 nautic
miles off the coast S of Tazacorte, La Palma, Canary Islands on 17.7 (Ricard
Gutiérrez, Helena Arbonés). The bird was preying on a shoal
of sardines, also attacked underwater by some tuna species.

two adults were recorded at Odiel marshes, Huelva (Paco Chiclana )

there were seven birds together with some White-rumped Swifts Apus caffer
in
the usual location N of Bolonia, Cádiz (Daniel López Velasco,Joan

to the Spanish RC if enough substantiated but inclusion in this page does
not imply acceptance or homologation of any kind. Gibraltar news are
included thanks to Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society
but this has no more implication than the sake of completeness given this
area situation. Names of localities are featured as given by the authors
of the records, that should be cited as those. Today news are marked with
a 'new' icon .From 2004 on news on Pied Wagtail and Caspian Tern are no
longer included except in case of major unusual concentrations. From
April 2005 only news of rarities needing homologation by the Spanish Rarities
