Presumed hybrid Western Reef x Little Egret* Egretta gularis x garzetta (1,2)
(1) One was seen on 13.5 at the junction of rivers Guadalhorce and Rio Grande,Cartama, Málaga (Ángel García López, Ángel F.García Vergara). This is a bird different from an hybrid also reported from the same site this winter.See a photo below (A.García)

(2) On 27.5 the white-headed hybrid below was seen at Sueca ricefields, L'Albufera, València (Toni Alcocer, Bosco Dies). See a photo below (Toni Alcocer)

Marabou* Leptoptilos crumeniferus (1)
(1) On 27.5 there was one at Embalse del Conde de Guadalhorce, Málaga (pers.com. to Ángel García López)

Bald Ibis *Geronticus eremita (1).3rd for Spain. 
(1) The bird seen during april at Trujillo, Cáceres was seen again c. 5km East of Belén, Cáceres on 1.5 (Ángela Molina, Alfonso López; Javier Portillo, José Portillo).Still at the area on 8.5 (Alfonso López, Juan Diego Acevedo) and 28.5 (Kingsley Parker, Gruff Dodd).

African Spoonbill* Platalea alba (1)
(1) One bird was seen on 27.5 at the junction of rivers Guadalhorce and Grande, Cártama, Málaga (Ángel García López,Ángel Fernando García Vergara) with two Sacred Ibises Threskiornis aethiopicus. (1) On 1.5 a bird was found at Laguna de Manjavacas, Cuenca (Alfredo Doncel)
(2)On 19.5 one, probably a subadult, was seen at Rambla Morales, Almería  (Andy Paterson, Mike Clark)

Pallid Harrier* Circus macrourus (1)
(1) On 5.5. one possible female was reported at Cellers, Lleida (Jaume Bonfil) 

Long-legged Buzzard* Buteo rufinus (1)
(1) One of the two birds were seen 12,5 km East of Belén, Cáceres on 17.4 and afterwards was seen again on 1.5 c. 7 km from Belén (Ángela Molina, Alfonso López; Javier Portillo & José Portillo).One was seen on 5.5 (Santiago Villa/ Celtic Bird Tours/ Spainbirds). But on 8.5 'the other' buzzard was seen at the very same place so both birds were still around by those dates (Alfonso López, Juan Diego Acevedo).On 29.5 one of the buzzards was seen 4 km from Belén (Kingsley Parker, Gruff Dodd)

(1) On 9.5 one was seen with two Collared Pratincoles at Es Ras, Ses Puntes and Prat de Son Serra areas, S'Albufera de Mallorca, Mallorca, Illes Balears (Pere Vicens)

White-rumped Sandpiper* Calidris fuscicollis (1)
(1) An adult sandpiper temptatively identified as of this species was found on 26.5 at Azud de Riolobos, Salamanca (Miguel Rouco). See a photo below and a thumbnail here

 

Great Snipe* Gallinago media (1)
(1) On 7.5 a bird was ringed within the Piccole Isole campaign at S'Albufera d'es Grau, Menorca, Balearic Islands. It was seen at the same area on 8.5 too (Raül Escandell, Xavi Méndez, Martinley Ussing, Pedro Bescós)

Franklin's Gull* Larus pipixcan (1)
(1) On 13.5, at 16h, an adult breeding plumage Franklin's Gull was seen flying SW along the foreshore of Roquetas de Mar, Almería, during a movement of Larus ridibundus and Larus genei (Paul Larkin)

Ring-billed Gull* Larus delawarensis (1,2)
(1) ON 5.5. one 1st summer was seen at el Matà area, Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, Girona (Albert Burgas; Jordi Martí-Aledo)
(2)A 2nd calendar bird was seen on 4.5 at Cararroja ricefields, l'Albufera de València. It was apparently relocated on 5-6.5 at tancat de l'Estell, also at l'Albufera (Bosco Díes, J.Ignacio Díes, Toni Alcocer). See a photo below and more images at the Dies Brothers website

(1)On 5.5 a 2nd winter/summer bird was seen at Club Náutico de A Coruña, Galicia (Antonio Sandoval)

Roseate Tern* Sterna dougallii (1)
(1) On 11.5 six and another on 14.5 were seen off Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands (David Gray)

Little Swift* Apus affinis (1)
(1) On 29.5 2 were seen near Bolonia, Cádiz, with 4 A.caffer (César Vidal, Rafael y Tito Salvadores, Moisés y Samuel Peregrina).

Bar-tailed Desert Lark* Ammomanes cinctura (1)
(1) On 28.4 one bird of this species was found and photographed at close distance at Cala Murtra, PN Cap de Creus, Roses, Girona (Syvain Maury). The bird was digiscoped using Leica APO Televid 77 and Canon A95. It is the fourth for Spain after two in the Canary Islands and one at Mallorca but the 1st for mainland Spain. See two photos below and thumbnails here.This report was known on 10.5 and subsequent research on 11.5 at the same site gave no results (Ponç Feliu, Oriol Clarabuch). This arrival coincides with sightings of Trumpeter Finch and Little Bunting out of normal range as well as the 1st European record of Seebohm's Wheatear at Gibraltar (see April page). (1) There were at least two at Tancada area, Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona on 1.5 (Rafael Armada, Jane Nethercote)
(2)Late sightings: on 22.4 there were 4 at Laguna de la Mata, Alicante and on 27.4 there were 3 between Hondon de las Nieves and Hondon de los Frailes, Alicante (Els Feuth and Stephan Cramer)
