Goose Branta leucopsis On 17.4 there was a bird at Llobregat
river at Castellgalí, Bages, Barcelona. It is regarded as an escape
after its tame behaviour but it is a free flying bird (Alex Ollé).

There was a female at Balsa de Riego de Villamañán, Villacé,
León at least from 17.1 and until 4.4 ( David Miguélez Carbajo

Duck Aythya nyroca. On 2.4 there was a drake at Laguna de Pitillas,
Navarra (Gorka Gorospe)There was a drake at PN Aiguamolls, Girona by 10.4
but possibility of hybridisation is being assessed (Xavier Martínez).During
Easter holidays there was a drake at PN Albufera de València (Gorka
Gorospe, Nacho Díes)

mollissima. The bird found at Ría del Eo, Asturies/Galicia on
1.2 was seen again on 5.4 near Tesón de Figueras (P.Fernández).On

were three birds in full breeding plumage and also showing courtship behaviour

still there now in almost complete breeding plumage (Rafael González

glacialis. At Cantabria there was a bird on 12.4 three miles
off Noja (Gorka Ocio) close to fishing vessels without discarding fish.

Reef Egret * Egretta gularis(1 )
On
9.4 and at the Jose Antonio Valverde visitors centre, Aznalcazar, Sevilla.There
was a bird (a male) seen nest building and then mating with a female Little
Egret Egretta garzetta in the reedbeds 70 metres west of the centre.
The author believes this bird to be the "accepted" recorded bird that has
been recorded regularly by him (and Others) at the area near Alfonso XIII
during the last year or so. It was certainly a gularis gularis and not

Great
White Egret Egretta alba.There were several at Ebre delta, Tarragona,
on 1.4 e.g. 1 en los campos cerca del Fangar, 4 .at el Garxal, 5 at l'Encanyissada
and 4 at Gola de Migjorn (Marc Peris)One was seen along C-31 near the Remolar-Filipines
reserve, at Llobregat delta, Barcelona on 11.4 (Anthony McGeehan et
al). There was one at S'Albufereta d'es Grau, Menorca on 10.4 (Lluís
Gustamante).There was one at Llobregat delta, Barcelona on 18.4 (Joan Gil).The
bird present at Villafáfila, Zamora since september 2003 was still
around on 24.4 at Revellinos, Zamora (Víctor Salvador Vilariño,
Isabel Martín Rodrigo and José Alfredo Hernández).
On 27.4 there was a bird at La Nava lagoon, Palencia, the 2nd bird for
the area (Enrique Gómez Crespo). There was one at Clot de
la Unilla. Lleida on 20.4 (G.Bota, D.Bigas, R.Gutiérrez, A.Ramal).There
was one at Les Olles, Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona on 11.4 (Raphaël
Lebrun).The species is breeding again at Ebre delta, Tarragona.

Ibis Plegadis falcinellus. There was a flock of 25-30 birds
at Buda island, Ebre delta, Tarragona on 1.4 (Marc Peris). On 4.4, there
were two at Marjal del Moro, Sagunt, València (Máximo Sánchez
Cobo) See a thumbnail here On 11.4, there were 2 at Marjal
del Moro, Valencia and two more at Marjal d'Almenara,La Plana Baixa, Castelló
(Máximo Sánchez Cobo,Beatriz Gómez García).
The birds from Marjal d'Almenara were there from 9-12.4 at least (David
Olmos Corral). On 11.4 there were 2 at Tirant, between Fornells and Cap
de Cavalleria, Menorca (Lluís Gustamante).Birds are breeding again
at PN Delta de l'Ebre, Tarragona (D.Bigas)

14.4 the nearly resident bird at Santoña, Cantabria was still there

25.4 two were seen at Los Barrios, Cádiz within a flock of c.300
Griffons. The previous week another was reported coming into Spain with

Falcon Falco vespertinus. A male was seen at ZEPA Llanos de
Caceres-Sierra de Fuentes, Cáceres on 9.4 (Isabel Fabregat, Chus
Lorenzo, Alberto Alvarez, Joan Gil).On 24-25.4 there was a female at the
road Olot-Riudaura, La Garrotxa, Girona (Marc Peris, Helena Giralt).
Corncrake
Crex
crex On 27.4 a school boy from Palafrugell, Girona, found an odd bird
near home. Once it was brought to the school it was quickly identified

Little
Crake Porzana parva. Observed frequently in the extreme NE of
Catalonia this month (e.g. a thumbnail here by Xavier
Martínez on 9.4 in a confidential location -for conservation purposes-
). Other records: a male was seen at José Antonio Valverde Information
Center, PN Doñana, Sevilla on 19.4 (Santiago Villa). See a photo

Baillon's
Crake Porzana pusilla. One was trapped and ringed at estany
dels Roncaires, PN Aiguamolls de l'Empordà on 10.4 (Oriol Clarabuch,
Toni Alonso i Gabriel De Jesús). This species is a rarity within
Catalonia. See a stunning photo below (O.Clarabuch)
Crested
Coot Fulica cristata. There were 4 uncollared birds at Laguna
de La Paja, Chiclana, Cádiz on 9.4 (Modesto sp)On 11.4, there were
12 at Marjal del Moro, Valencia all wearing PVC collars (Máximo
Sánchez Cobo,Beatriz Gómez García). On 2.4 four Red-knobbed
Coots seen at La Calantilla visitors centre, Marismas del Odiel, Huelva.Two
birds were without PVC collars but two other coots with PVC collars were
seen feeding a day-old chick (John Butler).A bird of those released at
Llobregat delta on 1.4.2003 returned to the Filipines marsh on 24.4.2004
after months of being out of the delta. Its code is UA (Néstor Urios;
R.Gutiérrez,F.X.Santaeufemia,X.Larruy,A.Ramal).On 27.4 a second
bird returned to Llobregat delta: U6 (P.Bescós, FX Santaeufemia,
R.Gutiérrez, A.Ramal).There was one with PVC collar ( UT ) at l'Encanyssiada,

Plumaje con mucha más cantidad de plumas marrones por todo el cuerpo.
