Great Snipe Gallinago media (1)
(1)
Tarragona. An exhausted bird was collected alive off Tarragona shore, over one mile out, by workers of a petrol facility on 28.6. The bird was collected by Agents Rurals who misidentified the species. However the photos were examined by early July by David Bigas who identified the bird. It probably was a male on its way back to Africa in unexpected early dates. See photos and thumbnails in July 2020 page.

(1) Gipuzkoa. There was an adult in summer plumage at Txingudi marshes on 4.6 (Itziar Gutiérrez, Martín Larrañaga). See a photocollage below (Itziar Gutiérrez).

ATLANTIC YELLOW-NOSED ALBATROSS Thalassarche chlororhynchos (1) FIRST FOR SPAIN IF ACCEPTED
(1)
Cádiz. On 1.6 a large albatross was photographed off Costa Ballena on 1.6 (Paco Solera). See a photo below. The record was submitted to some experts which mentioned it was sure a Thalassarche and very probably a chlororhynchos, being other more 'frequent' species discarded. The record was supressed though but submitted to the Rarities Committee. After a bird of that species was photographed off Sagres, Portugal, on 22.6 (see a post in facebook here) it is almost certain that it's the same individual that has lingered across Cadiz Gulf for 22 days.
