(1) Zaragoza. A juvenile was found dead on 17.10 at Botanical Garden, Parque Grande, Zaragoza (Luis Palacio). 1st for mainland Spain. See a photo below (Luis Palacio) and an entry in Spanish at Anuario Ornitológico de Aragón AODA here. Results of the necropsy showed the death being caused by a crash against an obstacle producing irreversible damage in the head of the bird. It was a male, the accident ocurred near Zaragoza according to the corpse degree of conservation and the bird had recently eaten some grasshoppers. The physiological condition of the bird was acceptable and all bare parts were in perfect condition, including average eroded nails. All these features are those of a wild origin individual, not having experienced any stress caused by human bound transport or captivity keeping. All this granting for a proper A category acceptance.

Little Bunting Emberiza pusilla (1,2,3,4,5,6)
(1) València . A bird was seen flying alonside the MV Hypatia de Alejandria on its route Eivissa - València on 4.10 afternoon. It never stopped on the vessel but benefited from the sheltering effect of the vessel regarding the wind, flying very close to the ship and at low altitude over the water. It was first seen at 17:29 hours at 39º12'10"N, 0º17'4.87"E at 23,36 nautic miles E of Cullera cape, València and 46,90 nautic miles from Es Vedrà, Eivissa. The bird flew alongside the vessel until at least 18:01 at 39º18'5,27"N, 0º2'46.35"E at 14,09 miles off Sueca beach, Valencia. In that moment the bird moved to the back of the vessel and was not seen again. It was initially spotted as a passerine (Jordi Serapio, Javier Subirats), then identified without photo as a Bunting (Ricard Gutiérrez, Jordi Serapio) and then pointed out (to the observer's major surprise) as Little Bunting again withouth photo (Ricard Gutiérrez) and ultimately identified as such after one good photo, see below (R.Gutiérrez). The bird was seen by the whole team of observers onboard (Jordi Serapio, Javier Subirats, Fernando Medrano, Ricard Gutiérrez, Emma Guinart, Maria Elena Cabrera, Lluís Grimalt). News were spread to Spanish observers in case the bird reached the coast near the vessel, but the bunting was not seen again. It was lacking right wing tertials. During the transect we had seen some Eleonora's Falcons hunting at sea passerines in migration. Perhaps this fact was after the lack of tertials, but that is obviously not clear at all. See photos below and thumbnails here.
