Cream-coloured Courser Cursorius cursor (1-3,4-7) BREEDING RECORD
(1-3) Albacete There were three birds at the Special Protected Area under Nature 2000 network at Bonete, Albacete on 1.8: two adults and a juvenile (D.Cañizares, J.A. Cañizares). Some birds were seen in this province in May. Might these birds be a breeding couple with its juvenile (after the last decade successful breeding record from Almería?, editorial comment)
(4-7) Albacete On 10.8 4 individuals (2 ads + 2 juv), a probable local breeding family according to juvenile characteristics, was seen at ZEPA de Aves Esteparias del Este de Albacete. It's a different party to that previously featured (José Antonio Cañizares Mata). See a photo below and thumbnails here. On 11.8 the four birds, 2 ads + 2 juvs were seen again. The two juvs were asking for food to the parents. The area is so huge that it is difficult to even see the birds (José Antonio Cañizares) (see enclosed photo with 3 birds circled). This can actually be considered the 2nd ever breeding record in Europe. These birds were seen again on 21.8 when it was confirmed that these two juveniles were different from the juvenile seen on 1.8 at 4 km distance, hence two pairs were confirmed for Albacete this year (David Cañizares).
