(2) Barcelona A drake was found at Cal Tet lagoon, El Prat de Llobregat, Llobregat delta, Barcelona on 5.5 (Pedro Bescós, Lluís Fernández y César Castel; Ferran López). See a picture here. Is perhaps this one the same individual from Valencia, 300 km to the S, on its way North? Or it's a different individual. So far it's considered here an independent observation.See two thumbnails from P.Bescós here. Still present on 6.5 (Pedro Bescós). And on 8.5 (Ferran López) to 9.5 (F.López, T.Appleton) and 10.5 (F.López)

Western Reef Egret Egretta gularis gularis (1,2,3)
(1) Teruel. The dark phase adult individual relocated at Laguna del Cañizar, Teruel on 30.4, remained in the area on 1.5 (Javeir Train), photos below, and 2.5 (Máximo Sánchez Cobo, Jus Pérez), see their chronicle in Spanish here. Despite the asymetrical spot on alula area, structure, bare parts pattern and colour plus overall shape and colour are those of a pure gularis without any apparent hybrid character (ed.note). This bird remained at Laguna del Cañizar on 11.5 (Fernando Salas) but it's increasingly difficult to be found due to variations in water levels of the lagoon, also a very large one where all Spanish herons breed.
