Tundra Bean Goose Anser fabalis rossicus (1,2-3)
(1) Zamora On 15.9 a Bean Goose was seen at the Villafáfila information center lagoon (J.M. San Román y J.J. Orduña). On 18.9 it was seen again and photographed (J.M. San Román y Alfonso Rodrigo). (Fea's/Madeira's) Petrel Pterodroma feae/madeira (1-4,5,6,7,8-9,10,11,12)
(1-4) A Coruña. FOUR birds were seen flying W on 5.9 from Estaca de Bares cape, A Coruña. 4th year in-a-row it's seen from there (Daniel López Velasco, Ricardo Hevia, Dave McAdams, Alberto Savijn). According to Spanish RC member Daniel López, one bird (shown below in a collage, click on the image to see a larger sized version -opens in another browser window-), one of the birds is best named 'Zino's/Fea's/Deserta's petrel since its characteristics would recall Pterodroma madeira rather than a feae/desertas.It showed extensive white on the underwing coverts, well visible by all observers in the field, a feature more associated with P.madeira, but also shown by a minority of P.'deserta'. It was structurally light built as well as relatively small in comparison with Puffinus puffinus also seen. The other three were darker below. BLACK-BELLIED STORM PETREL Fregetta tropica (1) 1ST FOR SPAIN, 2ND FOR WP (1) Lanzarote. On 10.9 one was seen c.40 nautic miles N of Lanzarote at Banco de la Concepción area, where a pioneering seawatch was being carried out (J.Sagardía, Miguel Rouco, D.L.Velasco, O.Llama, J.L.Copete et al). Previous record is that of a bird c.15 nautic miles NE of Madeira on 8.8.2011 (Correia-Fagundes and ROmano, 2011, Birding World 24(8);326).Ed.comment. (8-9) Cádiz On 18.9 there were 2 birds: at 15.08 a biird was flying alongside the N340 just north of Tarifa. It had been feeding on a carcase in a field next to the road with griffons (1st photo below) and at 10.50 another flew low over the carpark at Algarrobo with a group of about ten or more griffons (2nd photo below) (Alan Gilbertson).

It was seen again at the same grass fields on 4.9 early morning (D.Bigas) and later in the morning, when photographed (J.Tantull, R.Solé, M.Sánchez Blanch; R.Gutiérrez, see a photo below). (1) Asturies One bird reached a private land in the coast of Asturies, at Cabana, c.9,5 km from where the 2005 bird was seen on 21-22.9 (Xurde Gayol). On 23-24.9 arrangements were done to be seen by many observers ( Xurde Gayol, Pablo Fernandez, ; Daniel López Velasco; Nacho Castelao, Manuel Quintana, Moncho Revuelta, Jose Luis Copete, Ricardo Hevia Barcón; Dave McAdams ; Xuan Cortés ; Jose Portillo ; Manuel Carregal ; Graciela Fernández ; Luis Carrera Buergo; Jaime Celorio). (1) A Coruña. On 27.9, at 13h, a Buff-bellied Pipit was found at Parque de Bens, W A Coruña city, Galicia (Cosme Damián Romai). See the three first photos in thumbnail mood here. The bird news were quickly broadcasted and other authors could see the bird in the afternoon, featuring photos in their blogs (Pablo Gutiérrez and Fernando Pereiras). Seen again on 28.9 at the same site (Dani López Velasco, Nacho Castelao González, Pablo Fernández García y C.Damian Romai; Ricardo Hevia, José Miguel Alonso Pumar). The bird occurrence was featured in local media as 'La Voz de Galicia' (see link here). On 29.9 it was still there (David Ortega, Mario Alonso, Manolo Carregal, C.D.Romai; Jose R.
