Introduction

On 13.1.2017 the adult Thayer's Gull (Larus thayeri) locally named Cipriana was seen again at Lago, Xove, Lugo (David Calleja). A number of photos were taken and are featured below. On 21.7 it was seen again at San Cibrao (Luis Mario Arce et al) but so far it is being seen only intermitently.

This is the same bird coming to the area since March 2010 and a number of photos have been published in Rarebirdspain including a gallery of the bird being already an adult in March 2013.

This stunning bird has attracted a large number of observers along these years and it is definitely one of the most interesting returning gull cases ever recorded in Spain and probably beyond.
