Photos by Marc Olivé Vázquez The april 2004 reports page in this web featured the report of a Blue-cheeked Bee-eater at archipielago de Cabrera, Balearic islands from 11-17.4 at least (David Cañizares,Marc Oliver). However, no documentation or photographs had been received by early summer 2004. Marc Olivé submitted the following photos clearly showing one bird of this species and related that the bird was very confident and allowed close approaching (text in catalan): 'El bitxo
es deixava acostar molt i és per això que vaig poder fer
unes fotos mínimament acceptables amb una càmera digital
de 5x de zoom òptic (l'última acoplada a un telescopi). Fins
i tot un guarda del parc en va fer una gravació en vídeo
de molta qualitat. Pel que fa a les dates, crec que són correctes
les que ja estan publicades a la secció del mes d'abril de la web.
Jo vaig estar-hi gairebé dos mesos (del 19/3 al 7/5) com a anellador
al Piccole i tot i que algun treballador del parc va afirmar haver-lo vist
posteriorment a
