From 25-28.9.2003 six rarities needing to be homologated by the Spanish Rarities Committee were recorded at the Llobregat delta Nature Reserves. In the rest of the year only one, a Collared Flycatcher, had been noted. These rarities included a party of three Pectoral Sandpipers Calidris melanotos, one having arrived earlier and two just seen together with the former on 25.9, then came the ringing of a Lesser Whitethroat Sylvia curruca, a rarity in Catalonia and on 26.9 the ringing of a Red-breasted Flycatcher Ficedula parva followed by another, a presumed Euring 5 bird seen on saturday 27.9. To end the week, a 1st winter Citrine Wagtail was to be found on Sunday 28.9. All in all an unforgettable weekend.
